The match was played on a fairly sticky pitch with grass that was perhaps an inch or two longer than would be ideal and wasn't a game of high technical quality, but it did provide good entertainment for the neutral. The visitors raced into a two goal lead within the first ten minutes, but the hosts responded almost immediately, had pulled themselves level by the half hour mark and took the lead just before half time. The second half wasn't quite such a goalfest, with Electricity's late arriving goalkeeper, Rory Marashi, limiting the hosts to one further goal without reply with a couple of fine saves.
