This was second v first, and having won their first 17 league matches this season, but suffered a recent dip in form since exiting the FA Vase, Heath did what they needed to do to close the gap at the top of the table to 3 points and stay ahead of Guernsey, so helping to avoid a potential trip to the Channel Islands for a play off final.

Some of the bumper crowd of 917 had only just gained entry to the stadium when Steyning Town took an 8th minute lead, with Heath equalising in the 41st minute and taking the lead in the 5th minute of added time at the end of the first half. The half time team talks went in favour of the hosts, as they extended their lead within the first minute of the second half, with Steyning scoring their second with virtually the last kick of the match.
