Hanbury Park was opened on 23 August 1952 by Sir Stanley Rous ahead of its inaugural match against Horsham, a scoreless draw witnessed by over 5,000 people. I've not been able to find any record of a higher attendance, so we must assume that this is the stadium record.

The current capacity of the ground is around 2,000, including approximately 250 seats in the original grandstand (which was completed in 1958 and said to seat 700 when opened) and a small, covered level standing area behind the western goal. Many years ago a large, partially covered, terrace was built alongside the northern touchline atop the spoil created from leveling the pitch, but this has since been removed and replaced with a car park.

The highest modern attendance was set on 28 March 2026, a Saturday during an international break which had been designated as 'Non-League Day', when 1,048 people turned out to witness the home side beat AFC Varndeanians by five goals to one in a Southern Combination Football League Premier Division match.
